... and Founder/Artistic Director
My name is Antora Rahman Doha and I am a professionally trained Odissi dancer/performer and teacher. I was 6 yrs old when I began my dance journey under the artistic direction and instruction of Srimati Sukanya Mukherji of Mayur Dance Academy and
Company (Washington, DC Metropolitan area).
I grew up being very culturally involved in performing arts--dancing right through high school and college, which later motivated me to take it up as my main focus.
I've spent many years as a student as well as
a teacher at Mayur Dance Academy while also actively taking part in countless
performances both regionally and internationally, as an ongoing member of Mayur Dance
Company, which was established by my guru in 2008.
In Fall of 2019, I along with my husband and our cat, packed up our lives and moved on down to the Atlanta area, where I was able to realize a long time dream of mine to open up my own school; so I can continue passing on such beautiful teachings, with my own unique personal touch, to future pupils. My hope is to spread the passion and joy that I feel for dance, to you all. So come, join the movement and find your flow at Alokha Dance Academy!
